A word about TMRS Magnetic Sweepers

Although magnetic sweepers and magnetic bars have been in use since the 1950’s, and were all similarly built by various manufacturers, Thompson Magnetics, Inc. was the first to market the Super Strength, a.k.a. Double Strength, and Skid Wheel designs on these type of magnetic bars. Other manufacturers’ models may closely resemble our TMRS Series sweepers, but they are not of the Thompson standard of quality. See our “Dare To Compare” section.

Realistically, a very good standard magnetic sweeper bar will work efficiently suspended at 3” from the ground and a Super Strength up to 5” from the ground, at speeds under 7 mph. Claims of efficient operation at higher speeds or mounting distances above 5”, with magnetic sweepers bars of this type, are false. Beware of low-grade imitations.
