Used for lifting and moving large ferrous steel sheets or slabs. Entire magnet surface, including release arm, must make complete flush contact with metal object. To disengage magnet, simply pull down and hold release arm while lifting magnet away from object.
Permanent lifting magnets offer maximum holding power, durability and ease of use. These permanent magnets come in five standard sizes listed below. The lift capacities are de-rated 50 percent to ensure safe handling.
Each unit is equipped with a handle on a cam assembly for easy separation form the ferrous object. As a safety back-up, a bolt on the front of the magnet is provided in case the handle fails or breaks.
An eyebolt is provided for attachment to an overhead cam or hoist. To use, simply attach the magnet to the desired ferrous object, (that is wide enough to incorporate the cam assembly), and begin lifting.
Applications can range from handling dies, flat ferrous stock, forgings, heavy metal blocks, bar stock and angles.
For applications where good surface contact between the magnet and ferrous object is limited, we offer these models in Rare Earth, Neodymium magnet material. The Rare Earth magnet material has 5 times the holding power as the standard Ceramic 8 material.
