Magnetic chute separators are ideal for extracting ferrous tramp metal from high-volumes of dry product flowing vertically through a chute. Each unit utilizes two powerful permanent magnets, a drawer-in-housing assembly and a product flow diverter. Hi-power magnets are mounted on the side of the drawer. The diverter for product flow is attached at the top and along the center of the drawer.

How Chute Magnets Works

As product flows down the chute, it is redirected by the product flow diverter toward the contact surfaces of the magnets on either side of the drawer. The magnetic reach of the magnets draws ferrous tramp metal from the product and holds it against the sides of the drawer. When cleaning is required, the drawer is unlocked and pulled out. As the drawer is pulled out, the tramp metal attracted to its sides clears the magnetic field and drops into a collection bin for easy disposal.

Made from ceramic-8 magnet material or ferrite rare earth magnet material, our chute magnets are available in food grade, pharmaceutical grade or industrial grade. Magnetic chute separators remove tramp metals from high volumes of dry products that flow vertically through a chute due to gravity.

Our magnetic chute separators feature two robust magnets mounted on opposite sides of a bottomless drawer assembly, while a product flow diverter is above and along the centerline of the drawer, and is parallel to the two magnets. Each unit has gasket doors and locking devices to ensure residual dust is kept at bay.

The product flow diverter moves products meandering down the chute to the direction of the surfaces of the magnets on either side of the drawer. Next, the magnetic plates attract and draw tramp metal from your products, then safeguards it against the side of the drawer, ensuring the unwanted metals do not pass through with product.

Transitions are available in a variety of sizes to accommodate easy connection to chutes. Should your application require a unique mating size, we can custom design a unit to meet your needs.
